Soundgarden gets ready for "King Animal" launch

Seattle rockers Soundgarden will return to the stage to celebrate the impending release of a brand-new album, "King Animal," and a handful of international performances.
The alt-rockers, helmed by Chris Cornell, will take on a couple of European gigs this week before celebrating the Nov. 13 release of the new effort with a performance at New York City's Irving Plaza. Shows are also on the books in Toronto (11/16) and Los Angeles (11/27).
"King Animal," which hits retailers Nov. 13 via Seven Four Entertainment/Republic Records, marks the band's first collection of new material since 1996's platinum-selling "Down on the Upside."
Fans can pre-order the album now at the group's website. A deluxe disc is also available, as well as a vinyl version complete with MP3 download.
