Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, more to perform on 40th annual AMAs

The awards ceremony will take place Nov. 18 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, and additional performers, as well as presenters, will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna top the list of nominations with four nods each. Rihanna's nominations include Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Soul/R&B Artist and Favorite Soul/R&B Album, as well as Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist opposite Minaj, who's competing for Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, both for "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded."

Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber and Drake have earned three nominations, along with Maroon 5, One Direction and Usher, while several are battling in two categories, including Carrie Underwood, Chris Brown, fun., Gotye, J. Cole, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan and Pitbull.

This year's American Music Awards will be the first to have an electronic dance category, which features Skrillex, David Guetta and Calvin Harris vying for the title of Favorite Artist - Electronic Dance Music.

Fans can vote for their favorite artists now via the award show's website.
