Depeche Mode unveils international excursion
Iconic rockers Depeche Mode will spend next spring and part of the summer on an international road trip, behind a new album that reportedly will drop earlier in the year.
The veteran English outfit will kick off the run with a May 7 performance in Tel Aviv, Israel, and continue touring throughout Europe for nearly three months. The 34-city trek currently concludes July 29 in Minsk, Russia.
An undisclosed North American tour will follow, according to a press conference the trio held in Paris Tuesday (10/23).
Depeche Mode will unveil a new studio set, which is still untitled, sometime before the tour.
"I'm excited about where this one's going," frontman Dave Gahan said "I think it's going to be a more direct record, a punchier record. That's all I can say at this point. With Depeche Mode, anything can change through the course of making a record."
Depeche Mode most recently unveiled 2009's "Sounds of the Universe," which peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts.
