Keane ushers in New Year with U.S. "Strangeland" run
British alt-rockers Keane have added a U.S. leg to their international road trip supporting the spring release of "Strangeland."
The four-piece band will spend the remainder of 2012 traveling the world, beginning with an Oct. 13 performance in Beirut, Lebanon, and extending through the early December finish of a U.K. leg. The North American portion of dates kicks off Jan. 8 in Portland, OR, and ventures through 17 major market from coast to coast, wrapping up with a Jan. 31 show at New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
Presales for the U.S. run begin today (10/10) at the band's website, where fans can also find more information about international shows.
Keane unveiled the group's fourth full-length effort, "Strangeland," in May via Island Records. The album, which marks the band's first collection of new material since 2008's "Perfect Symmetry," is also the first to feature bassist Jesse Quin.
The latest set peaked at No. 17 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the U.K., Irish and Dutch Albums charts.
In June, Keane unveiled a four-song vinyl EP, "Upstairs At United, Vol. 5," which was recorded in analog for Nashville-based label 453 Music.
