Dio Disciples unleash fall club trek

Heavy-metal all-star outfit Dio Disciples will pay homage to the late Ronnie James Dio with a monthlong club and theater outing.
The tribute band, comprised of singers Tim "Ripper" Owens (Judas Priest) and Oni Logan (Lynch Mob), guitarist Craig Goldy (Dio), bassist Bjorn Anglund (Yngwie Malmsteen), keyboardist Scott Warren (Dio) and drummer Simon Wright (Dio, AC/DC), will kick off the road trip Oct. 20 in Anaheim, CA. The trek will venture along both coasts, coming to an end Nov. 20 in Allentown, PA.
More dates and special guests will be announced soon, according to the band's Facebook page.
"We could NEVER replace Ronnie and that is not our intention -- there will ever only be one RJD," the band said in a press release. "Dio Disciples is a celebration of the music and legacy of the greatest singer in the world, Ronnie James Dio."
In related news, "The Very Beast of Dio Vol. 2" will hit retailers Oct. 9 via Niji Entertainment. The 17-track collection showcases Dio music from 1996 onward, including hits "Killing The Dragon," "Push" and "Fever Dreams."
Ronnie James Dio died in 2010 of stomach cancer.
