The Vaccines prep for first North American headlining dates
British indie-rockers The Vaccines will take the world by storm for the next several months as they drum up support for their recently released sophomore set, "The Vaccines Come of Age."
Following a slew of fall and winter shows throughout Europe, the rock quartet, comprised of singer/guitarist Justin Young, bassist Arni Arnason, guitarist Freddie Cowan and drummer Pete Robertson, will kick off its first U.S. headlining trek with a Jan. 29 performance in Boston. A dozen major market shows make up the itinerary, which also includes one Canadian stop, slated for Feb. 4 in Toronto.

Last month, The Vaccines unveiled their second studio effort, "The Vaccines Come of Age," in their native U.K. The album, which follows last year's debut entitled "What Did You Expect From the Vaccines?" and hit U.S. retailers this week (10/2), topped the U.K. Albums chart.
"I love the bubblegum element of [the title], like 'Meet the Beatles,'" Young said in a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine. "It refers to us as human beings rather than as a band. I feel that sentiment really sums up the record, lyrically and emotionally."
