High on Fire returns to tour trail behind "De Vermis Mysteriis"
With frontman Matt Pike now out of rehab, heavy metal outfit High on Fire is ready to work the road this fall in support of the recently released "De Vermis Mysteriis."
The Oakland-based trio, comprised of singer/guitarist Pike, drummer Des Kensel and bassist George Rice, will kick off the newly announced trek with a Nov. 15 performance in Austin, TX. The five-week club run pushes through an impressive 32 major markets, including three Canadian shows: Nov. 26 in Toronto, Nov. 27 in Montreal and Dec. 16 in Vancouver.
High on Fire will be joined by openers Goatwhore and Lo Pan, as well as special guests Primate Nov. 23 through Dec. 1, followed by Corrosion of Conformity Dec. 18-21.

High on Fire unveiled "De Vermis Mysteriis," the group's sixth studio effort, in April. That work, which was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou, comes two years after "Snakes for the Divine."
This outing marks the band's first since canceling their planned summer-long spot on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival outing. The outfit pulled the plug on the run in early June so Pike could seek help for alcohol rehabilitation, according to published reports
"As I acclimate back to society, I realize the beast within is even sharper and stronger!" the frontman stated in mid-August, upon release of the music video for the band's latest single, "Fertile Green." Fans can watch the video here.
