Gary Clark Jr. hits the road ahead of "Blak and Blu" debut

Singer/songwriter and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. is preparing for a fall major-market outing, as well as the long-awaited release of his full-length debut, "Blak and Blu."
The Austin-based musician will complete a couple of European and Australian gigs this month before returning stateside for an Oct. 10 benefit show in Austin, TX. The trek then continues with festival appearances at Austin City Limits Festival (10/14) and Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans (10/26), as well as club and theater performances in Boston (11/2-11/3); New York City (11/4-11/5); and Los Angeles (11/13-11/15); among others.

Clark will release "Blak and Blu" Oct. 22 via Warner Bros. Records. Mike Elizondo (Mastodon, Dr. Dre) and Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance) produced the 13-track effort, which features drummer J.J. Johnson, keyboardist Zac Rae and Elizondo on bass for many of the songs.
"Blak and Blu" will be available for pre-order Sept. 18 via Clark's website, the same day the first single, "Ain't Messin 'Round," hits digital retailers. Fans can preview the single now at Clark's YouTube page.
