Matt & Kim make "Lightning" plans across North America
Indie-rock duo Matt & Kim have planned a six-week North American excursion in support of their impending release, "Lightning."
Following a one-off festival appearance Aug. 25 in Somerset, WI, the Brooklyn natives will begin the journey with an Oct. 3 show in South Burlington, VT, and continue along the East Coast through mid-month before heading west. The 37-date outing wraps up Nov. 17 in Montclair, NJ.
Pre-sale tickets for the fall run are available now via the pair's website, and general on-sales begin Aug. 3.
At each stop, Matt & Kim will host that city's no kill shelter in the venue lobby, hoping to raise awareness and garner support for the humane treatment of animals along the tour.
Matt & Kim will unveil "Lightning," their fourth studio album, will hit retailers sometime in October, according to a press release. The Fader Label effort will their first collection of new material since 2010's "Sidewalks," which peaked at No. 30 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 5 on the magazine's Independent Albums chart.
