Steve Vai takes "Story of Light" on the road
Legendary guitarist Steve Vai will kick off a world tour next month in support of his long-awaited August release, "The Story of Light."
The New York rocker will begin the North American excursion with an Aug. 15 show in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and continue along the East Coast through mid-September before heading west. In all, the Grammy-winning musician will perform in 50 North American markets before the domestic conclusion Oct. 13 in Agoura Hills, CA.
Vai will then head overseas for a six-week European trek in mid-October. Tickets for the entire outing, including international gigs, are available now via his website.
For many of the U.S. dates, an EVO Experience VIP package is available, giving fans an inside look at Vai pre-show, according to his website. The package includes an open-group discussion with the musician pre-show, the opportunity to watch the band soundcheck, and autographed guitar straps and photos, among other things.
Vai is set to unveil "The Story of Light," his eighth solo album, Aug. 14 via his own label, Flavored Nations. The 12-track collection follows his 2005 effort, "Real Illusions: Reflections."
