Journey fills out 2012 schedule with more tour dates
Just two dates into their summer road trip, iconic rock outfit Journey has extended the North American outing, which also features performances by Pat Benatar and Loverboy at most stops.
The multi-platinum-selling rockers will continue the excursion tonight (7/24) in Paso Robles, CA, before heading north along the West Coast. Since last check, another 43 performances have been added to the schedule, which now has the five-piece act crisscrossing the continent through mid-December.
Pat Benatar and Loverboy are slated to open most shows through mid-November. Tickets for the entire tour are available now via Journey's website.
Journey spent most of last summer on the tour trail in support of 2011's "Eclipse." The effort, which marks the band's 14th studio album, is the second album to feature Filipino vocal sensation Arnel Pineda. The first, 2008's "Revelation," debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and earned platinum certification.
Pat Benatar and her husband/lead guitarist Neil Giraldo also have a new album in the works. According to a press release, it will surface sometime in 2013. Benatar, known for her hits including "Love is a Battlefield," "We Belong" and "Shadows of the Night," has won four Grammys and sold over 30 million records worldwide. Her most recent release, 2003's "Go," reached No. 9 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.
