Bob Dylan readies first new album since 2009
Iconic folk-rocker Bob Dylan will continue his worldwide summertime tour ahead of the mid-September release of a new album.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who is currently in the midst of a European trek, will unveil his 35th studio effort, "Tempest," Sept. 11 via Columbia Records -- 50 years after his 1962 eponymous debut. The collection of 10 new tracks lists Jack Frost, Dylan's pseudonym, as producer.
Dylan kicks off his North American leg Aug. 10 in Lloydminster, Alberta. Since last check, eight more cities have been added to the itinerary, including shows in Des Moines, IA (8/22); Cincinnati, OH (8/26); Bethel, NY (9/2); and Uncasville, CT (9/8). The tour currently concludes Sept. 9 in Hershey, PA.
Dylan last released 2009's "Together Through Life," which topped The Billboard 200, as well as album charts in Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Argentina, Austria and the U.K. It also landed at the top of Billboard's Top Internet Albums, Top Digital Albums and Top Rock Albums charts.
Earlier this year, Dylan received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian honor.
