Van Halen cancels previously postponed shows

A little more than a month after postponing the remainder of their summer tour, Van Halen has officially canceled the trek, according to promoter Live Nation's website.
The rock veterans have not acknowledged the change of plans at their own website, though venues are listing gigs as canceled and announcing that refunds are available at the point of purchase.
The band was on the road from mid-February through late June, but a 32-date summer excursion that was to have kicked off July 7 and pushed through Sept. 25 are no longer scheduled.
Despite rumors of internal tension, frontman David Lee Roth released a video in late May explaining that the band "is getting along famously" and said the outfit had simply "bit off way more than we can chew when it came to scheduling."
Van Halen worked the road with the same lineup it featured during its 2007/2008 tour: original frontman Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen, along with Eddie's son, Wolfgang Van Halen, on bass.
In February, the band released "A Different Kind of Truth," the first original Van Halen studio album with Roth on the mic since "1984," which surfaced in 1984.
Van Halen is next scheduled to take to the stage in November, when the band will tour Japan.
