Pop singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow will continue on with her summer tour plans despite news that she's got a benign brain tumor which might be the cause of recent memory troubles.

Doctors of the multiple-Grammy winner discovered the tumor in November, according to a June 1 interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Crow has been honest about her occasional issue remembering lyrics, with the most recent reported occurrence taking place last month during a Florida performance of her hit song, "Soak Up The Sun."

"I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor," Crow told the newspaper. "And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong.'"

"Ms. Crow speaks about memory issues, and that is definitely the kind of symptom that could be caused by this type of tumor," Anders Cohen, Chief of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery at The Brooklyn Hospital Center, told USA Today. "We usually don't remove benign tumors unless they are sizable or cause symptoms."

The mother of two shared a note via her Facebook page yesterday (6/5), asking fans not to worry about the non-cancerous growth.

"I know some folks can have problems with this kind of thing, but I want to assure everyone I'm OK," the post stated. "I'm feeling very healthy and happy, and having a great time on the road playing with my new band. I'm busy working on my next record too, which I'm very excited about ... and I'll be on The Tony Awards this Sunday. Really appreciate everyone's love and concern, I feel so blessed to have the support of all my fans, but I'm good -- really! Love, Sheryl"

Crow, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, is dealing with meningioma, a type of tumor that is typically benign and develops from the protective linings of the brain and spinal cord, according to the USA Today story. Cohen also said that about 15 percent of adult brain tumors are benign and causes are generally unknown.

Crow is preparing for the June 16 launch of her summer itinerary at Bama Jam in Enterprise, AL. The songstress will work the U.S. tour trail sporadically through a Sept. 9 performance in East Lansing, MI.
