Girl Talk to spend summer DJing across North America
Girl Talk, the stage name of DJ and mash-up artist Gregg Gillis, will spend the rest of the spring and summer on the North American tour trail, mixing theater shows and festival appearances.
The trek, which kicked off Friday with a performance as Quincy, WA's Sasquatch! Festival, continues tonight (5/28) in Missoula, MT. The 28-city outing canvases the continent and includes stops at Wakarusa Festival in Ozark, AR (6/1); Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, MI (6/28); Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY (7/13); and Catapla Festival in New York City (7/29); among others.
The summer schedule features a trio of Canadian dates before wrapping up Sept. 22 in Atlanta.
Girl Talk most recently unveiled "All Day," a seamless 12-song, 71-minute mash-up, in 2010 via Illegal Art. The collection, which features 372 overlapping samples of other artists' songs, was released as a free download, and is still available in four different formats at the Girl Talk website.
