Guided by Voices regroup for tour behind "Class Clowns"

Ohio indie-pop outfit Guided by Voices will play a round of festival appearances and club shows through late summer behind the forthcoming "Class Clown Spots a UFO."
The five-piece band will complete three July gigs--July 6 in Philadelphia, July 7 in New York City; and July 15 in Cincinnati, OH--before taking a two-month break. The road trip picks back up Sept. 8 in Dayton, OH, and runs through a Sept. 29 stop in St. Louis, MO.
TGuided by Voices, helmed by singer/songwriter Robert Pollard, will unveil its 17th studio effort, "Class CLown Spots a UFO," June 11. The self-produced 21-track set closely follows January's "Let's Go Eat the Factory," which peaked at No. 8 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart and No. 35 on the magazine's Top Independent Albums chart.
That album marks the first to feature the group's classic lineup since 1996's "Under the Bushes, Under the Stars."
