Liars hit North America this summer
With a series of European road dates already in place for June as well as stops in New York City and Los Angeles, experimental dance-punk trio Liars have added three-weeks of new North American dates to their summer tour.
The North American trek kicks off July 5 at the Fillmore in San Francisco and wraps July 28 at A&R Music Bar in Columbus, OH, covering 19 cities in all, including Boston, Chicago, Toronto and Montreal.
Liars will be spending the first half of June playing the U.K. and Western Europe, including a slot at the opening day of the Field Day Festival in the British capital. Later in the month, the trio of Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross will be playing one-offs at Webster Hall in their native New York City, followed by a set two days later at the Music Box in Los Angeles. Also on the itinerary is a slot at Hopscotch Music Festival taking place in September.
The roadwork is in support of Liars' upcoming sixth LP, "WIXIW" (pronounced "wish you"), which comes out June 5 on Mute Records and is self-produced by the band. The album's first single, "No. 1 Against The Rush," is available digitally and on 12" vinyl starting May 29, and comes with remixes by Vince Clarke (Erasure, Yazoo, Depeche Mode) and Matmos, plus a b-side, "We'll Never Learn."
