Matisyahu and the Dirty Heads unite for summer trek

Reggae alt-rockers Matisyahu and Dirty Heads have announced a co-headlining tour this summer.
The bands begin their trek July 8 in Virginia and continue on to perform at venues across America through September. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release. Tickets are on sale now.
Matisyahu, who is known for intertwining Jewish dogma, reggae and alternative rock, will tour in support of his fourth studio album, "Spark Seeker," set for release on his own label, Fallen Sparks Records via Thirty Tigers/RED, on July 17. The second track off the album, "Sunshine," is already available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon. His last effort, 2009's "Light," took the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart. Matisyahu was nominated for the Best Reggae Album at the 2006 Grammy Awards for "Youth," released the same year.
The Dirty Heads will release their second studio album, "Cabin By the Sea," on Five Seven Music June 19. Dubbed the "the ultimate summer soundtrack" by the band, it will feature collaborations with Matisyahu, Del the Funky Homosapien, KyMani and Rome.
The 2010 gold-certified single "Lay Me Down" from their debut effort, "Any Port in the Storm," spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Albums chart.
