Owl City preps for new summer album with major-market shows
Synth-pop act Owl City will head out on another round of U.S. shows this summer, this time promoting an impending new album which is scheduled to surface later this year.
The electronica project of musician Adam Young will begin the journey with a July 9 show in Toronto before moving down into the U.S. for seven major market shows spread across the nation. The itinerary includes a July 18 appearance with Demi Lovato at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre.
Owl City then heads to Asia and Europe for a few dates that stretch into early August.
On May 15, Owl City will unveil an EP entitled "Shooting Star," featuring four tracks which will be on the still-untitled summertime studio release. The first single and the EP's title track features Blink-182's Mark Hoppus on guest vocals and was co-written by Matt Thiessen (Relient K), Stargate (Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa), Josh Crosby, Nate Company and Emily Wright.
The forthcoming full-length album will follow last summer's "All Things Bright and Beautiful," which peaked at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and at No. 2 on the magazine's Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
