The Crimson ProjeKct plots summer trek, music camp
King Crimson members Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto will spend the summer touring as The Crimson ProjeKct, and will also host a week-long summer camp for music lovers.
The trio will first take to the North American tour trail, beginning with a June 15 show in Rochester, NY. The 23-city outing canvases the continent through a July 21 performance in Chester, PA.
Markus Reuter, Julie Slick and Tobias Ralph--all members of the Adrian Belew Power Trio and the Stick Men -- will join the tour, as will Dream Theater.
Following the trek, the three musicians will hold the second annual "Three of a Pair Music Camp." The four-day experience, which takes place Aug. 20-24 in Big Indian, NY, will mix musician-led classes, discussions and after-hours jam sessions with campers of all experience levels.
"At camp, Adrian, Pat and I will be giving classes," Levin explained in a press release. "Count on a lot of insight into Crimson music, both at open rehearsals and at the Bearsville Theater concert where all campers will be guests for the soundcheck and show."
Registration is available now at the camp website. All-inclusive packages range from $999 for tent camping to $2,430 for a single-occupancy room with private bath at a nearby inn.
King Crimson has been on hiatus since 2009, with the prog-rockers' latest studio effort, "The Power to Believe," surfacing in 2003.
