Brooklyn native Barbra Streisand comes home for October show

Barbra Streisand, who's rarely performed in public in recent years, will give her first concert ever in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY, on Oct. 11.

The show will take place at Barclays Center, the new 19,000-seat sports and entertainment venue that will be the new home of the NBA's New Jersey (soon to be Brooklyn) Nets.

"Brooklyn to me means the Loew's Kings, Erasmus, the Yeshiva I went to, the Dodgers, Prospect Park, great Chinese food," said Streisand, a native of Brooklyn's Flatbush neighborhood, in a press rlease. "I'm so glad I came from Brooklyn -- it's down to earth. I guess you CAN come home again."

Tickets will go on sale to the general public May 21 at 10 a.m. ET. Fans can also sign up for advance tickets at Streisand's website.
