The Afghan Whigs fill out summer reunion
Just a few months after announcing a couple of reunion dates, The Afghan Whigs have unveiled an expanded European tour, as well as a few major market club and festival shows in the U.S.
Three of the band's four original members -- frontman Greg Dulli, guitarist Rick McCollum and bassist John Curley -- will perform together during a May 22 appearance on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." The following evening the band will take to the stage at New York City's Bowery Ballroom, more than 12 years after their last performance together.
The trek then heads overseas for a European run that kicks off May 26 in Landgraaf, Netherlands, and extends through mid-June. A handful of Australian gigs are on the books, followed by an Aug. 3 appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago, as well as a Sept. 22 show at Asbury Park, NJ's I'll Be Your Mirror Festival.
The Afghan Whigs most recently released their sixth studio effort, "1965," in 1998 -- 10 years after their studio debut, "Big Top Halloween."
