Built to Spill mix touring with studio time
Indie-rock veterans Built to Spill will spend the summer juggling club and theater shows with recording sessions for a new studio set.
The Idaho quintet, comprised of singer/guitarist Doug Martsch, bassist Brett Nelson, drummer Scott Ploug and guitarists Jim Roth and Brett Netson, will hit the road beginning with a June 22 performance in Boston, followed by another 24 major market stops scattered through late September. More dates will be announced in the coming weeks, and tickets will be available soon at the group's website.
Built to Spill will take to the studio between tour dates, recording a new studio set that will be released via Warner Bros. Records next year, according to a press release.
The group most recently unveiled "There Is No Enemy," its seventh full-length set, in 2009. That album marked the band's first new material since 2006's "You In Reverse."
