Alanis Morissette preps for "Havoc and Bright Lights" release
Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette is set to unveil a new studio set, "Havoc and Bright Lights," this summer following a European trek.
The Grammy-winning musician will first venture through Europe, beginning with a June 25 stop in Birmingham, England, and wrapping up July 21 in Rome.
No North American dates have been announced at this time.
"Havoc and Bright Lights," Morissette's seventh studio effort, will hit retailers Aug. 28 via Collective Sounds/Sony RED.
"This record, as always, is a snapshot of what I currently obsess about, care deeply about, and what strikes me at 4 in the morning in my most introspective moments," Morissette explained in a press release. "It is my emotional, psychological, social and philosophical commentary through song. I can't wait to share it with this fun and funny planet, and to tour, and can't WAIT to have the lively, engaging and challenging conversations that these songs may invite."
The forthcoming release, which marks the performer's first new album since 2008's "Flavors of Entanglement," was produced by Guy Sigsworth (Madonna, Seal) and Joe Chiccarelli (Elton John, U2) and recorded in Los Angeles. The lead single, "Guardian," will be available for purchase May 15 via iTunes.
