Along with the release of her new album, "Blown Away," country superstar Carrie Underwood today unveiled plans to kick of a North American arena tour in September.

The outing, which runs almost until Christmas, is scheduled to touch down in more than 50 cities. Tickets go on sale May 11, according to a press release.

Ahead of the North American trek, Underwood is scheduled to make a May 26 appearance at Baton Rouge, LA's Bayou Country Superfest, and to play an Aug. 12 set at Toronto's Boots & Hearts Music Festival.

Underwood will be touring internationally this summer, including a June 21 gig at Royal Albert Hall, which sold out in 90 minutes. More overseas dates will be announced soon.

"I can't wait to get back out on the road and perform new music from my new album for my fans," Underwood said in a press release. "We have a lot of exciting things planned!"

The "American Idol" alum will donate $1 from each ticket sold on the tour's North American leg to support Red Cross disaster relief.

The upcoming tour marks Underwood's third major headlining tour. Her 2008 "Carnival Ride Tour" and 2010 "Play On Tour" combined to play to 2.2 million fans over 250 shows, according to the singer's camp.
