About an hour and a half before he took the stage for his Friday night (4/27) performance at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, Bruce Springsteen surprised the early birds by playing a quick acoustic rendition of his early song "For You."

According to reports, Springsteen was checking out the stage with some relatives when he picked up a guitar and played the song, which appears on his 1973 debut album, "Greetings from Asbury Park." YouTube video of the performance is embedded below; Springsteen takes the stage at the 2:50 mark.

In other Springsteen news, the rocker recently beefed up his itinerary with the addition of a second show at Chicago's Wrigley Field. The new show is set for Sept. 8, the day after his previously announced Sept. 7 gig at the historic ballpark. Tickets for the new date go on sale May 5 at 10 a.m. CT.
