Alabama Shakes celebrate "Boys & Girls" success with inaugural headlining run
Alabama Shakes are preparing for their inaugural headlining tour in support of the rock quintet's debut studio set, "Boys & Girls."
The Alabama-based buzz band will first complete a European leg before taking to the road for several sold-out shows as opening support for Jack White. The group's headlining debut will take place July 29 in Syracuse, NY. So far, just a handful of official summer tour dates have been released, though more dates will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
Alabama Shakes unveiled "Boys & Girls," the outfit's debut studio set, earlier this month via ATO Records. The effort entered The Billboard 200 at No. 10 and topped the magazine's Top Independent Albums chart.
The band -- comprised of singer Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, drummer Steve Johnson and bassist Zac Cockrell -- recorded the album at Nashville's The Bomb Shelter, producing and mixing the collection themselves.
