The Hives set out on world outing ahead of new album
Swedish rock outfit The Hives will mix European dates with a short North American rum this summer in support of the impending new album, "Lex Hives."
Following a slew of European shows throughout May and early June, the five-piece rock group will head stateside for the June 19 kick-off in Washington, DC. Among the confirmed stops are performances in New York City (6/22), Boston (6/23) and Toronto (6/26), as well as the trek's conclusion June 30 in Chicago, IL.
Tickets for the domestic roadwork go on sale Friday (4/27).
The Hives will unveil their fifth full-length album, "Lex Hives," June 5 via their own Disque Hives label. The effort, which follows 2007's "The Black and White Album," marks the group's first self-funded, self-produced and self-released set. A deluxe edition will also include bonus tracks produced by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme.
Earlier this month, The Hives conquered two appearances at Indio, CA's Coachella Festival, as well as live performances of two singles --"Go Right Ahead" and "Wait a Minute"-- on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
