Donavon Frankenreiter to "Start Livin'" on the road

Musician and surfer Donavon Frankenreiter has confirmed a summer tour in support of his upcoming release, "Start Livin'," out May 29.
The headlining trek kicks off Jun. 1 at the Compound Grill in Phoenix and wraps on June17 at the Cliff Resort in Pismo Beach, CA, covering 10 West Coast cities in all. In the meantime, the singer/surfer is slotted for a May 26 headlining appearance at the Wounded Warriors Benefit in Virginia Beach, VA.
"Start Livin'" is Frankenreiter's first release since 2010's "Glow," and contains nine tracks of folk-based songs anchored by the most somber track on the album, "A. I.," which pays tribute to Frankenreiter's friend, professional surfer Andy Irons, who died in November of 2010.
The whimsical crooner summed up his onstage philosophy with a quote on his website from the "Glow" tour. "We don't have a set show, if we did, I would go crazy," Frankenreiter said. "You never know what's going to happen. I love that element of surprise with music and surfing -- you never catch the same wave twice."
Fans who purchase a ticket to one of Frankenreiter's June tour shows will receive a free physical copy of "Start Livin'."
