Gary Clark Jr. takes "Bright Lights" on the road

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. will spend the spring and summer hitting every major U.S. music festival, as well as a handful of club shows as he continues riding the wave behind last year's EP, "The Bright Lights."
The Austin, TX, native kicks off the itinerary with appearances at Indio, CA's annual Coachella Music Festival April 14 and April 21. The guitar prodigy will crisscross the nation, making stops at New Orleans' Jazzfest April 29, Memphis, TN's Beale St. Music Festival May 5 and Manchester, TN's Bonnaroo Music Festival June 10, among others.
Clark will also join forces with Dave Matthews Band for a trio of mid-June opening performances.
Tickets for the impending excursion are available now at Clark's website, and more dates will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release.
Clark released his latest studio effort, "The Bright Lights EP," in September via Warner Bros. Records. The musician is preparing for his full-length debut album, which is due this fall. Though the album title and release date have not yet been released, Clark did acknowledge in a May 2011 interview with SoundSpike that he's worked with Rob Cavallo on the effort and recorded a couple tracks each with Doyle Bramhall and Justin Stanley.
On Record Store Day (4/21), Clark will unveil an exclusive 12" vinyl single, "Gary Clark Jr. Presents HWUL Cuts Vol. 1," which will contain two previously unreleased tracks: "If You Love Me Like You Say" and "Bright Lights."
