Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart reunite on the road
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks has announced plans to reunite with fellow iconic rocker Rod Stewart for a summer run behind her latest studio effort, "In Your Dreams."
The dynamic duo pulled off one of 2011's highest grossing co-headlining tours last summer, and, to the delight of their numerous fans, have decided to have a second go.
Nicks will get the ball rolling with three solo performances beginning June 29 in Wantagh, NY, before meeting up with Stewart for a July 20 arena show in Cleveland. From there, the two will visit large venues scattered across the country until their final scheduled stop on Aug. 9 in Houston. More dates are in the works, according to a press release.
"In Your Dreams," the seventh solo album for Nicks, is a mix of Bob-Dylan-inspired folk songs, rock songs and ballads. It peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200. Nicks, in a recent interview with SoundSpike, called the newest addition her favorite she's ever made.
Stewart, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who will be taking a break from his residency at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace for the tour, most recently released "Fly Me to the Moon ... The Great American Songbook Volume V." The two-disc set of pop standard covers, which surfaced last October, came in at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Fans can watch Nicks on two popular TV shows this week. First up for the singer/songwriter is a Wednesday (3/28) appearance as a mentor on Fox's "American Idol," followed by a Thursday (3/29) cameo as herself on the NBC hit "Up All Night."
