Canadian alt-rockers Barenaked Ladies will join forces with Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd & The Monsters and Cracker in July for the "The Last Summer on Earth" tour in support of their forthcoming album, "Stop Us If You've Heard This One Before!"

The outing will cover 30 cities from coast to coast in the span of two months. The show kicks off July 6 at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre in Ohio before continuing on to arenas and amphitheaters in major markets across the nation. Tickets go on sale March 16 and 17.

"I love playing outside in the summertime," says Barenaked Ladies vocalist/guitarist Ed Robertson in a press release. "To travel and hang around with a bunch of bands, and get a chance to do some collaboration is part of the magic of a summer tour." As for the tour's moniker, Robertson says, "I'm a man of science, and therefore put zero stock in all of the disastrous predictions about the year 2012. But JUST IN CASE, I think everybody should come out and see one last great summer concert tour! It can't hurt, right? Here's hoping the Mayans just got tired of chiseling!"

Known for their comedic banter on stage, and hits like "One Week," "Pinch Me, Brian Wilson" and "If I Had a $1,000,000," Barenaked Ladies have been a staple in the music industry since the early '90s. Their latest offering, "Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before!" a collection of 12 rare and previously unreleased demos, b-sides, remixes and live recordings from 1994-2003, will hit shelves May 8. It follows 2010's "All in Good Time'" which charted at No. 23 on The Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the magazine's Top Independent Albums chart. It was the first album recorded without founding member Steven Page, who ran into trouble for cocaine possession in 2008.

For their next project Barenaked Ladies will be composing an original score for "Animal House: The Musical," a theatrical production based on the well-known film from 1978.
