Alejandro Escovedo and The Sensitive Boys @ SXSW
Veteran rocker Alejandro Escovedo will take on his usual busy schedule of shows surrounding the South by Southwest Music Conference next month in anticipation of his forthcoming album, "Big Station."
Escovedo and The Sensitive Boys have eight gigs scheduled in just six days, beginning with his usual Tuesday night residency at Austin's Continental Club March 13. Along with an official SXSW showcase March 15, the musician and his band will headline an unofficial SXSW show, co-sponsored by SoundSpike, March 14 at Lucy's Fried Chicken.
Escovedo and crew have been hard at work on a new album, titled "Big Station," which will feature contributions from guitar and songwriting virtuoso Chuck Prophet. Rumored for release in May, the effort will feature a host of new tunes, many of which Escovedo has been previewing at recent performances.
The former True Believers member, who is also working on an autobiography with famed music writer Dave Marsh, most recently released "Street Songs of Love" in 2010.
