Lady Gaga will introduce her new non-profit organization, the Born This Way Foundation, at Harvard University today (2/29) during a live, online streaming event.

The singer and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, will unveil details of the foundation from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. EST, before a panel that includes Oprah Winfrey, Deepak Chopra, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and others.

Gaga's youth-oriented foundation seeks to "explore the best ways to reach youth and create a new culture of kindness, bravery, acceptance and empowerment," according to a statement. Through partnerships with the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, The California Endowment and Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard, the group plans to "address issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development through research, education and advocacy."

"I have seen my daughter ... go through a lot of the struggles other youth have gone through, so I identify with that as a parent," Cynthia Germanotta told USA Today.

"What we did with her, with both of our daughters, is create an environment where they [felt] safe and able to express their own individuality," she added.
