Roger Waters' "The Wall" tour confirms Fenway Park show
As long expected, Roger Waters' "The Wall" tour is now confirmed to make a July 1 stop at Boston's Fenway Park, one of Major League Baseball's most storied venues.
Waters told Rolling Stone last year that he and his production crew were scouting out Fenway for a potential tour stop in 2012, and a July 1 date in Boston has long been listed on Waters' itinerary without a confirmed venue -- even long after tickets went on the market for all of the other cities on the itinerary.
Tickets for the Fenway Park show are on sale now.
"The Wall" is also scheduled to make stops at five other Major League Baseball stadiums this year: San Francisco's AT&T Park on May 11, Chicago's Wrigley Field on June 8, Toronto's Rogers Centre on June 23, New York's Yankee Stadium on July 6-7 and Philadelphia's Citizen's Bank Park on July 14.
Though most of Waters' North American shows will take place at indoor arenas, another outdoor gig is set for the cavernous Los Angeles Coliseum, though it appears that only half of the stadium will be utilized for the show.
According to a press release, the outdoor stadium shows will feature "state of the art modifications transforming the arena production into magnificent outdoor events."
Waters will bring "The Wall" to 36 North American cities this year, kicking off May 1 in Houston.
In 2010 and 2011, Rogers' revival of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" played in more than 120 cities worldwide.
