Megadeth, Rob Zombie unleash co-headlining run
High-profile rock acts Megadeth and Rob Zombie will join forces this spring for a co-headlining trek that mixes arena shows with festival performances.
Megadeth will finish up their in-progress Gigantour before taking to the road with Zombie for a May 11 start in Holmdel, NJ. The co-headlining run then moves along the East Coast and parts of the South and Midwest. The nine-date outing features two festival stops: Columbus, OH's Rock on the Range (5/20) and the tour conclusion at Pryor, OK's Rocklahoma (5/26).
Tickets for most of the two outfits' excursion go on sale Feb. 24, while ticket information for Megadeth's domestic and international gigs is available at the band's website.
Megadeth unveiled "Thirt3en," the group's 13th studio set, late last year. The album debuted at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Hard Rock Albums chart. The band earned a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance for the effort's single "Public Enemy #1."
The late spring outing marks Rob Zombie's first live performance since his co-headlining trek with Slayer last summer. The musician, who most recently released "Hellbilly Deluxe 2" in 2010, will perform with guitarist John 5, bassist Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish on the tour.
Zombie recently finished shooting "The Lords of Salem," his sixth feature film. The performer wrote and directed the movie, which is currently in post-production.
