Beatles ringtones go up for sale on iTunes

In a sure sign that up-and-coming British beat combo The Beatles is finally beginning to make inroads with fans, the band has begun selling ringtone versions of its No. 1 hits exclusively through iTunes.

In a sure sign that up-and-coming British beat combo The Beatles is finally beginning to make inroads with fans, the band has begun selling ringtone versions of its No. 1 hits exclusively through iTunes.

The 27 chart-toppers (which are listed below) are available in 30-second snippets for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and run $1.29 apiece, the same price as a full song download.

The same 27 songs can also be found in the collection "1," which made its digital debut in September. The set, the fastest-selling album in history following its original physical release in 2000, has sold more than 31 million copies worldwide, according to the Beatles' Apple Corps company.
