Bruce Springsteen adds second Los Angeles show

After a quick sellout during this morning's onsale for the L.A. stop of the "Wrecking Ball" tour, Bruce Springsteen has announced a second Southern California date for April 27. Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. PT today (2/3).
Springsteen's "Wrecking Ball" tour will officially kick off March 18 in Atlanta, though a March 9 show at New York's Apollo Theatre will serve as something of a public dress rehearsal, to be broadcast live via SiriusXM satellite radio, which is giving away tickets to the event.
At press time, it appeared this was the first added show on the North American leg of the tour. The added date fills a gap between Springsteen's West Coast tour leg and a hop to New Orleans, where Springsteen and the E Street Band will revisit the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
The Los Angeles shows will take place at the city's venerable Sports Arena, a regular stop on Springsteen itineraries going back to "The River" tour in 1980.
With the launch of the much more modern Staples Center in 1999 (which Springsteen inaugurated during the E Street Band's reunion tour and roundly criticized from the stage for box office problems and the glass-walled luxury suites ringing the venue), most arena tours bypass the area's older Sports Arena and Forum, save for Springsteen with his regular tours and the likes of Prince, who played a high-profile residency at the Forum in 2011.
