Shinedown to take headlining spot on spring Avalanche Tour
Rockers Shinedown are slated to headline the second annual Avalanche Tour this spring in support of the band's forthcoming album, "Amaryllis."
The tour, presented by Zippo, kicks off March 27 at The Grove in Anaheim, CA, on the same day the group's latest effort hits shelves, and wraps up 20 stops later in Baltimore. Shinedown will receive support from fellow rock bands Adelita's Way, New Medicine and Art of Dying.
Pre-sale tickets will become available to members of the Shinedown Fan Club Tuesday (1/31) and Wednesday (2/1). Tickets go on sale to the general public Feb. 3 and 4.
"Amaryllis" is the outfit's fourth studio album. It follows 2008's "The Sound of Madness," which debuted at No. 8 on The Billboard 200. The new album incorporates synths, a 27-piece orchestra and a 10-piece horn section, a departure from previous albums.
In a press release, frontman Brent Smith said the band's latest offering "reflects on everything we've done and where we're heading. It's a message of empowerment, perseverance, and inspiration that I think speaks to fans that have been with us since the beginning as well as those who are just learning about who we are and what we're about."
Shinedown will perform "Bully," their new single from the album, on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on March 26. The track is already available on iTunes.
The band is now accepting pre-orders for the upcoming release and will offer special "bundle packages" that will include a general admission ticket, and other extras. Find out more at the band's website.
