Steve Winwood, Gov't Mule among initial lineup of Mountain Jam

Steve Winwood, Gov't Mule and Michael Franti & Spearhead will headline the 8th annual Mountain Jam Festival this spring, presented by Radio Woodstock and Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes.

The four-day event takes place May 31-June 3 at Hunter Mountain in New York's Catskill Mountains and will feature more than 50 artists on multiple stages. The initial lineup also includes The Roots, the reunited Ben Folds Five, The Word, featuring Robert Randolph, John Medeski, and The North Mississippi Allstars. The current roster is listed below; More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.

Three-day tickets are on sale now at the festival's website, along with camping, RV and VIP passes.

The festival's Awareness Village returns this year, hosting a special acoustic stage as well as exhibits from not-for-profit organizations and environmental groups; children's entertainment; performance and sculpture art; physical and spiritual healing; and a beer and wine garden.

Mountain Jam also will continue its eco-friendly efforts with recycling, carbon offsets and free water refills to reduce the use of plastic water bottles.
