Eddie Vedder goes solo for spring tour

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will head out on the road in April for a solo tour, with more than a dozen shows currently confirmed.
The trek opens April 11 in Las Vegas, and ends in mid-May. Along the way, he's set to play a May 3 set at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Vedder released "Ukulele Songs," his second solo album, last May, and followed it up with a round of solo theater shows. The album, issued via Pearl Jam's Monkeywrench Records, features original and cover songs performed by Vedder on ukulele.

On his 2011 tour, Vedder's sets contained a mix of songs from "Ukulele Songs," Pearl Jam material and covers. He played much of the set solo, but also brought in a string quartet and other guests.
Vedder is set to join Pearl Jam for a summer tour of Europe that gets underway June 20.
