Los Lobos plan winter gigs throughout eastern U.S.

After a Big Apple New Year's Eve concert, Los Lobos will take on a round of U.S. dates throughout the eastern part of the nation in continued support of last year's "Tin Can Trust."
The East L.A. rockers, comprised of David Hidalgo (guitar/accordion/mandolin), Cesar Rosas (guitar), Conrad Lozano (bass), Louie Perez (guitar/drums) and Steve Berlin (keys/horns), will ring in the New Year with a Dec. 31 performance at City Winery in New York City.
Ticketing details are available now via the band's website.
Nearly two weeks later, the new itinerary gets underway on the other side of the nation, beginning with a Jan. 12 show in Yakima, WA. The 16-date outing moves into the Midwest, finishing up with a March 10 performance in Aspen, CO. A one-off summer gig, slated for June 16 in Albuquerque, NM, is also on the books.
Los Lobos unveiled "Tin Can Trust" in August 2010. The effort marked the California group's first collection of new material since 2006's "The Town and the City," as well as their first release with Shout! Factory. The latest album, which features a cover of the Grateful Dead's "West L.A. Fadeaway," received a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album.
In related news, Hidalgo has been working the road alongside guitarist Marc Ribot, visiting theaters around the world on the "Border Music" tour. The two guitarists have been accompanied by bassist Brad Jones, keyboardist Anthony Coleman, percussionist EJ Rodriguez and drummer Cougar Estrada.
