Fun. maps North American course supporting "Some Nights"
New York City indie rockers fun. will spend the spring working the road behind their forthcoming sophomore set, "Some Nights."
The trio, comprised of lead singer Nate Ruess, multi-instrumentalist Andrew Dost and guitarist/trumpeter Jack Antonoff, will kick off the coast-to-coast tour with a Feb. 29 show in Burlington, VT. The 32-date outing spans three months and includes two Canadian stops, slated for April 25 in Toronto and April 26 in Montreal. The North American road trip wraps up May 5 in Charlottesville, VA.
Tickets for the excursion go on sale Saturday (12/10) via the band's website.
"Some Nights," fun.'s second studio set, will hit retailers Feb. 21. The 11-track album, which comes two year's after "Aim and Ignite," will be the group's first on the Fueled by Ramen label.
The album's lead single, "We Are Young" featuring Janelle Monae, is currently available via iTunes.
"Nate Ruess' voice is legendary," Monae said in a press release. "Their music is special. To watch fun. is to perhaps watch the renaissance of Queen mixed with their own fresh approach to music."
The lead single also appeared on this week's episode of "Glee," the video for which is currently streaming at the television show's YouTube channel.
