Singer and porn star Andrea True dead at 68

Andrea Marie Truden, a porn star who had fleeting success as the lead singer of the '70s disco group Andrea True Connection, died Nov. 7.
According to an obituary posted by the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, Truden, of Woodstock, NY, died at Kingston Hospital in Kingston, NY. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Truden's group had an enduring hit in 1976 with its song "More, More, More," which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group couldn't duplicate that success, however; its only other song to reach the Top 40 was "N.Y. You Got Me Dancing," hit No. 27 on the pop chart in 1977.
True, who was born in Nashville, moved to New York City as a teenager with hopes of becoming an actress. Though she landed some minor roles in mainstream films such as "The Way We Were" and "Forty Carats," it wasn't enough to sustain her career. She eventually turned to hardcore porn, appearing in upwards of 60 hardcore films, mostly in the early '70s.
