Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw to join forces for summer stadium run
Country heavyweights Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw will spend next summer playing NFL stadiums on the "Brothers of the Sun Tour," marking the pair's first outing together in a decade.
The two award-winning performers will kick off the 19-city U.S. trek with a June 2 show in Tampa, FL. The road trip, which ends Aug. 25 in Foxboro, MA, also includes two cities with yet-to-be-determined dates: Indianapolis and Cleveland.
Tickets for many of the summer concerts go on sale Dec. 3 via Ticketmaster; remaining on-sale dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
Chesney and McGraw first toured together in 2002, and both are looking forward to the 2012 reunion.
"Tim and I have been great friends since we first toured together, and I can't wait to get back on the road with him," Chesney said in a press release. "He's one of my closest friends in music and in life, and I know this tour is going to be something special."
"Our friendship was forged on the road, so it's going to be a blast heading out with Kenny again," McGraw stated.
Chesney recently completed his "Goin' Coastal Tour," in support of his 2010 chart-topping release, "Hemingway's Whiskey."
McGraw's latest studio effort, "Southern Voice," surfaced in 2009, debuting at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Top Country Albums chart.
