George Strait set to support "Twang" through fall

With the first tickets for his fall tour going on sale Saturday (7/23), George Strait is preparing for his next round of dates with Reba McEntire and Lee Ann Womack behind last year's "Twang."
The award-winning country singer, who spent previous months canvassing the western half of the nation, begins the 11-city run with a Sept. 9 show in Columbus, OH, and is currently slated to conclude with Oct. 22 stop in Fargo, ND. The full schedule is outlined at right.
Tickets for the tour's opening night go on sale Saturday (7/23) via Ticketmaster, with tickets for other dates following in the coming weeks.
The first leg of the Strait/McEntire outing took in $29.8 million, making it the No. 5 top-grossing tour for the first half of 2010, according to Pollstar.
Strait continues to support his chart-topping 26th studio effort, "Twang," which hit retailers last summer. Earlier this month, the performer released "The Breath You Take," the latest single from the album, which marks the 91st single of his career.
McEntire is taking the stage in anticipation of her forthcoming new album, which becomes available Nov. 9. The still-unnamed set -- the follow-up to last year's "Keep On Loving You" -- includes the new single "Turn on the Radio."
