Josh Ritter spends winter on solo acoustic run

Singer/songwriter Josh Ritter will take to the road this winter for a round of mostly solo acoustic theater shows.
The Idaho native will get the itinerary started with two performances -- Nov. 11 in York, PA, and Nov. 12 in Richmond, VA -- as the Josh Ritter Trio, featuring Mark Erelli and Zack Hickman. The solo acoustic run begins Nov. 14 in Tampa, FL, includes a handful of southeastern shows, as well as a handful of Alaska concerts in January.
The schedule also features a New Year's Eve (12/31) gig in Northampton, MA, with Ritter and the Royal City Band.
More information about tickets for the new round of dates is available at the musician's website.
Ritter's most recent full-length release, "So Runs the World Away," surfaced in April 2010. The album, whose title is culled from a line in Shakespeare's "Hamlet," peaked at No. 41 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Folk Albums chart.
In February, a six-song EP entitled "To the Yet Unknown World" was released via Ritter's website and live shows. The limited edition collection features B-sides, demos and remixes from the "So Runs the World Away" recording sessions.
