Megadeth returns with new record, Gigantour dates
Along with the release of their new album, "TH1RT3EN," rockers Megadeth have announced the return of their touring heavy-metal festival Gigantour with kick-off dates early next year.
The tour's latest installment, which will also feature Motorhead, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil, gets underway Jan. 26 in Camden, NJ, and works its way westward through major markets across the U.S. and Canada. The 24-city road trip is currently slated to wrap up Feb. 28 in Denver.
Tickets for the adventure go on sale Friday (11/4) at the event's website. Ultimate VIP packages including premium tickets, meet and greet opportunities and gifts will also be available, according to a press release.
The 2012 excursion marks the festival's fifth occurrence since Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine started the tour in 2005.
Megadeth will be supporting its latest effort, "TH1RT3EN," which hit shelves today (11/1) via Roadrunner Records. The album marks the band's 13th studio set and follows 2009's "Endgame," which debuted at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and at the top of the magazine's Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
