Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige among this year's "VH1 Divas"

Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J and Jill Scott will perform during this year's edition of the annual " VH1 Divas" show.

Welch and Jessie J will be making their debuts on the show, which premieres Dec. 19 on VH1, while the other performers are returning Divas. The Roots will serve as the night's house band.

Dubbed "VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul," the night at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom will pay tribute "to the great cities of soul music including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia," according to a press release.

The event will benefit the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and its programs to restore music education in public schools.
