Marillion plot new album, North American return
British rock act Marillion will spend part of the summer on the North American tour trail, promoting a new album that's currently in the works and performing stateside for the first time since 2004.
The prog-rock quintet will begin the North American trek June 10 in Washington, DC, followed by nine more club and theater shows. The itinerary features two-night stands in New York City (6/12-6/13), Chicago (6/22-6/23) and Los Angeles (6/27-6/28), as well as stops in Quebec City (6/18), Montreal (6/19) and Toronto (6/20).
Tickets for the 2012 road trip go on sale Nov. 4 via the group's website.
Marillion will perform different setlists at each stop, according to a press release, including new material that the group is currently working on in the studio. The forthcoming effort, which will be the band's 17th studio album, is expected to hit retailers in time for next summer's tour.
Marillion most recently released "Less Is More," an acoustic collection that surfaced in 2009.
